We are happy to announce Journal of Regional Security Vol. 20, No. 1 (2025) has been published!

This special issue of the Journal of Regional Security brings together a timely and important set of contributions that address the evolving challenges of radicalization and violent extremism in the Balkans and the MENA region. Against the backdrop of ongoing democratic backsliding, socio-economic precarity, and geopolitical turbulence, the articles examine how macro- and meso-level institutional environments shape both the drivers and the responses to radicalization across diverse contexts.
